Time to Think Independent Research Projects & Schedule for Unit 3 - Cells

Hey everyone. I hope you all had a great weekend (Go Lions & Tigers!). Our quiz over macromolecules and enzymes will be on Wednesday, Oct. 5. As always, all notes and assignments from class are available on the wiki so feel free to print off any of the PowerPoints we either have used or will be using in class. Just remember to put @sparta.lan after your username when you sign in to the wiki.

Here's the schedule for the remainder of Unit 2 & Unit 3 - Cells (quiz will be Wednesday Oct. 18):

Monday 3rd:

• Review and reinforce enzymes
• Enzyme online module w/ simulations
• Enzymes in the digestive system video
• Enzyme stuff from online textbook - Chapter 5 Section 5 (sign in to the text is required - logins were handed out on Friday last week)
• Macromolecule review sheet assigned (due Tuesday at beginning of block - see wiki)
• Enzyme overview worksheet handed out (due Wednesday at beginning of block - see wiki)

Tuesday 4th:

• Discuss independent research project (lab notebook required starting Wed.)
• discuss requirements (click here for copy)
• all materials due Thursday

Wednesday 5th:

• Create brace map of macromolecules
• Discuss macromolecule review sheet
• Worktime for enzyme overview worksheet (due Thu.)
• More IRP work

Thursday 6th:

• Macromolecule unit QUIZ
• Begin cell notes/tree map & coloring (see wiki for PowerPoint & coloring pages)
• bring coloring utensils - return to kindergarten :)
• Setup independent research projects (Day 0)

Friday 7th (begin homecoming activities - class color day - sophomores wear purple):

• Setup independent research projects (IRP)
• Start cell notes 

Monday 10th (world wide sports day - need one item):

• IRP data collection (Day 1)
• Finish cell notes

Tuesday 11th (U.S.A. day - 2 items required):

• Assign cell advertisement (due Thu.)
• • either done on paper or through Glogster (more info to come)
• Cell Lab (see wiki) (turn in Wed.)

Wednesday 12th (favorite culture day - 2 items required):

• IRP data collection Day 2
• Finish Cell Lab (turn in)
